There are many opportunities to further your passion for Science, Technology, Engineering Arts and Maths (STEAM) at Glasgow Caledonian University.
Strong STEAM skills can lead to careers in engineering, science and IT. But currently, only an estimated 25% of the STEAM sector are women. At GCU, we aim to inspire and enable more women to engage with STEAM.
As the University for the Common Good, we are a proud partner of Equate Scotland and the Women's Engineering Society. We are home to a dedicated WiSE research centre and winner of the Athena SWAN bronze award. The University has a range of study options and opportunities that can help you to find a lasting STEAM career.

STEM Summer camp
This three day fully funded residential programme is targeted at boys and girls in S4 and S5 aged 16-18. The camp will be packed with workshops, from bending metal to welding, machining and also programming.
International STEM Summer camp
The STEM Summer programme has been designed for school girls, aged 16 -19 only, and aims to encourage them to consider STEM choices for future study and career. During two weeks, girls from around the world will participate in hands on activities and excursions.
STEAM: Luge project
Collaborative project between Glasgow Caledonian, Royal Navy, and a selection of primary schools to solve a real-world Engineering problem.
STEAM Ambassadors
The STEM ambassador scheme is a UK wide network with hubs across the country linking schools with STEM educators and industry. GCU supports students in engaging with STEM activity through the West of Scotland hub Science Connects.
