Risk and Governance Research Group
The Risk, Society & Governance Research Group studies the multiple perspectives of risk experienced by society and business. It focuses on the following thematic areas: Society and Communities; Environmental Justice; and Governing in Institutional Settings. We are a group of multi-disciplinary researchers, focusing on the governance of society and business via applied research across communities and organisations within the public, private and third sectors.
We support PhD and postgraduate research and our recent research includes: risks and opportunities experienced by asylum seekers living in Glasgow; risk communication with institutional boards and decision making; LGBTQ+ and representation within finance; Scottish African educational attainment and the income/poverty nexus; the exploration of Covid-19 and food security and nutrition; new and ‘old risks’ on the small farm; and corporate governance related to managerial incentives.
