Aim

The aim of the project is to relieve deprived families of public debt and work with existing financial well-being support providers to design a shared vision on how to better deliver financial wellbeing for families.

Summary

Tayside Family Financial Wellbeing Project supports families struggling with public debt by testing new approaches to financial advice and support. It strives to implement innovative ways of delivering financial wellbeing support within Aberlour Children’s Charity’s family support model. It combines this model with approaches from Tayside’s statutory and third sector to empower families and reduce the impact of poverty. The pilot was established in 2022 and is expected to run until 2025. It is funded by the Robertson Trust, Corra Scotland, and Aberlour. It is delivered by Aberlour in partnership with Dundee City, Angus, and Perth and Kinross Councils.

What difference does it make?

The project has helped families with problematic debt. It has therefore also improved their mental health and well-being.
