Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
GCP is the ethical and practical standard to which all clinical research is conducted
It is strongly recommended that all staff and students conducting clinical research at GCU obtain GCP certification before starting their project.
GCP training is mandatory for any researcher conducting a clinical trial using investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs).
GCP certification lasts for 2 years. To maintain GCP certification researchers must complete a GCP refreshers course to extend their certification every two years.
GCP certification and GCP refresher certification can be completed online at NIHR Learn.
All GCP certificates should be sent to the Senior Clinical Research Governance Manger for filing on the GCU central GCP databases.
