Musculoskeletal Health

The musculoskeletal health group focuses on applied clinical research across orthopaedics, rheumatology and rehabilitation sciences. Led by Dr David Hamilton and Dr Gordon Hendry, the group comprises clinical academics and health researchers and works alongside our partners in the NHS, industry and 3rd sector, to design and evaluate musculoskeletal interventions that support people with musculoskeletal disease and the clinicians that treat these.

We are particularly interested and active in clinical outcome evaluation, clinical trials, epidemiology and data science, biomechanics, and diagnostic imaging. We also have specific expertise in patient reported outcome development and validation including the RADAI-F5, EFAS and FJS-12 tools.

Our team are currently supporting three NIHR trials (GREAT, TREADON and MOTION), a CSO feasibility study (MIDI), alongside an EU network program (DIALECT), and a raft of wider studies across the breadth of MSK health.
