Kiltwalk 2022
Team GCU raise £9000 for the Common Good Campaign
Thanks to 50 GCU students, staff, graduates and friends, GCU’s Kiltwalk Appeal raised a fantastic £9000 to provide vital financial support to our students facing hardship.
The pandemic, cost of living crisis, and conflicts around the world, are leading to an increase in educational inequalities. Every penny raised through our Kiltwalk Appeal will provide vital financial support through the Common Good Fund to students joining GCU from some of the most marginalised backgrounds, at home, and around the world. The Fund also provides bursaries for students with no access to income or family support, increasing the number of match funded internship opportunities and enhancing student mental health and wellbeing support.
Director of the GCU Foundation, Alumni and Events team Jillian Watt said: ‘A huge well done to all our GCU students, graduates and staff who took part in the Kiltwalk this year, raising much needed funds to support students who need it most. The team spirit was fantastic with everyone supporting each other on the day, and we give our most sincere thanks to all those who so generously donated.’
All donations were also generously topped up by 50% from the Hunter Foundation, led by GCU Honorary Graduate Sir Tom Hunter, ensuring that we can make a real difference to the lives of our students who need our help.
