Volunteer
We are appealing for experienced alumni and friends to give back their time and expertise to GCU’s MINT (Mentoring, Internships, Networking and Talks) programme, the first of its kind to provide integrated support to new graduates.
With new graduates facing the toughest employment market on record and almost 40% worried they won’t get a job of any form, additional support can really make a difference to students getting a foot on the career ladder.
There are opportunities to become a mentor, take on an intern or deliver a talk as a leader in your field.
Mentoring
Provide advice and guidance to a recent graduate as an alumni mentor over a six month period, offering support such as tips on making your CV stand out, act as a sounding board, and offer advice on building confidence and industry connections. More than 1,400 GCU alumni have so far volunteered to be a mentor. You can read more about our mentoring programme on our mentoring pages.
Internships
We are offering employers the opportunity to take on an intern, with the cost of 50% of their salary subsidised by our Graduate Internship Fund. Thanks to support from Sir Alex Ferguson CBE, our Graduate Internship Programme provides an affordable way for companies to benefit from the skills and talent of a new graduate to deliver a fixed term project. Find out more on our alumni benefits pages.
Networking and Talks
Our Captains of Industry Talks comprise a series of online discussions tailored for students entering their final year and the upcoming graduating cohort. Alumni and friends who are industry leaders in their field are invited to share their experiences, discuss the evolving landscape, and provide valuable tips for initiating a successful career journey. If you're interested in delivering a talk to our students, kindly complete our online form to express your interest.
