Brompton Bike Hire on campus

The University has welcomed Brompton Bike Hire lockers to the campus to provide our students and staff with a sustainable transportation option that improves campus mobility and allows their users to lower commuting carbon emissions. The solar-powered storage locker is located on the main concourse just outside the Students’ Association building.

Brompton Bike Hire is a convenient bike rental service that offers foldable bikes for short-term use as these are compact, can be easily unfolded and folded within seconds and can be stored securely indoors. Each of the Brompton Bikes is hand brazed by a skilled craftsman at their London factory.

To try out the Brompton Bikes on campus you should:

1. Download the Brompton Bike Hire app by searching “Brompton Bikes” on your app store of choice.
2. Head out to the Brompton Bike Hire lockers on the main concourse, outside the Students’ Association Building.
3. Use the app to rent a bike: The service allows users to rent a Brompton bike for 24 hours at a cost of £5.
4. You can reserve a bike through the app up to 24 hours in advance.
5. Return the bike to the locker after use.
6. The app also contains tutorials on how to set up the bike.
