Chair of Court Election

The University will be electing a new Chair of Court in November 2024 to succeed Rob Woodward CBE, who completes his term of office in February 2025.

The Chair is responsible for the leadership of Court, the University’s governing body, which, together with the Principal, is responsible for setting the strategic direction of University. This includes overseeing the student and staff experience, the quality of the learning, teaching and research and the long-term sustainability and financial health of the University.

All staff, students and members of Court will have the opportunity to hear from the candidates at the online Hustings event on Tuesday, 12 November, which will be hosted by the Vice-Chair of Court, Meg Lustman. We encourage you to register for the event and submit questions for the candidates.

How to vote

All students, staff and members of Court are invited to vote for their preferred candidate between 13 and 19 November.

Voting will be conducted online and managed by Mi-Voice Election Services. On the morning of 13 November, staff,  students and members of Court will receive an email with their personalised voting code and full voting instructions from Mi-Voice.

Alternative arrangements are being made for staff without ready computer access.

The Chair Elect

The announcement of the Chair Elect of Court is expected on 21 November following Court’s formal appointment. The successful candidate will then take up the role on 1 March 2025.
