Health and safety

Glasgow Caledonian is committed to protecting the health, safety and welfare of our staff and others who are involved in our activities including students, visitors and contractors.

The Health, safety and wellbeing policy statement sets out the approach of the University to the management of safety, health and wellbeing and is supported by a comprehensive suite of arrangements and procedures including the Roles, Responsibilities and Arrangements document that provides further information on individual responsibilities.

The Health and Safety Strategy 2030 demonstrates the continuing commitment of the University to further develop, embed and improve its safety performance and culture. The Strategy focuses on four key themes and objectives that support a safe campus for our staff, students and visitors and outlines the implementation plan over the first two years.

The Strategy does not include Health and Wellbeing which sits within the Strategic Framework for a University-wide approach to Health and Wellbeing.

The University also recognises the importance of staff wellbeing by promoting positive physical and mental health and wellbeing  to ensure that staff can work in a safe, supportive and caring environment. The University has a Strategic Framework for a University-wide approach to Health and Wellbeing and further information on staff mental health and wellbeing can be found on the mental health and wellbeing page for staff.
