Centrally Funded Posts
When a computer falls below the minimum standard, Information Services will replace it with one that meets the standard. Departments may contribute to the replacement where there is a need for a more expensive model. The hard drive will be kept for six months before being wiped and sent for disposal.
If a department replaces a computer before it falls below the minimum standard, Information Services will take it into stock and provide the department with an equivalent when required.
When a member of staff leaves, Information Services will take their computer into stock and issue an equivalent computer to their replacement when appointed. The hard drive with its data and software will be stored and reused in the replacement computer.
When a post is discontinued the computer will be taken into our stock to be reallocated to a post either within or outside the department.
Departmentally Funded Posts

With approval from Information Services, departments may provide centrally funded staff with a second computer. These will be treated in the same way as computers for departmentally funded posts
