Quality Assurance and Enhancement
Quality assurance and enhancement aims to ensure the quality of the learning experience the University provides and its continual enhancement. This requires quality assurance and enhancement processes with these attributes:
- Streamlined, underpinned by technology and adaptive in relation to sector developments, such as the Quality Enhancement Framework and Teaching Excellence Framework
- Supported by guidance and resources for staff to ensure clear and consistent understanding and implementation across the University
- Responsive and address effectively the increasing diversity of our provision such as online learning, work-based learning, TNE and academic collaborations
- Integrate effective mechanisms for student engagement and partnership working.
Quality Assurance and Enhancement is defined as "Taking deliberate steps to bring about continuous improvement in the effectiveness of the learning experience of students’.
Glasgow Caledonian University's assurance and enhancement strategies seek to promote an inclusive approach to learning by embedding the principles of equality and diversity throughout the institution, valuing individuals regardless of background or groups to which they belong.
Glasgow Caledonian commits to providing opportunities for staff and students to engage in meaningful professional conversations to foster effective partnership working in an environment that is sensitive to the diverse population on campus. Partnership in this sense reflects the UK Quality Code concept of joint working, based on a mature relationship and mutual respect and not a formal legal relationship.
