Adverse weather contingency plans during exams
To avoid problems later, students must read the information below and note the actions they are expected to take should adverse weather impact on exams.
We are currently not expecting adverse weather conditions during the exam diet, from Monday 8 January to Friday 19 January, and all exams are expected to go ahead as planned.
However, if the situation changes, contingency plans are in place to ensure that all students affected by extreme weather have the chance to sit their exams. No students will be disadvantaged if they cannot attend an exam because of the adverse weather conditions and their Mitigating Circumstances are accepted.
In the advent of adverse weather conditions, daily updates will be sent out via SMS, email and social media, directing students to the GCU website, which will be updated with information, including weather conditions, travel advice and alerts from Police Scotland.
Students should not ignore official travel advice in order to attend exams.
If you cannot attend an exam as a result of the weather but it has not been officially postponed, please email or call your Programme Administrator without delay. You will also need to submit a Mitigating Circumstances form with appropriate evidence e.g. information from transport providers informing that transport has been cancelled or delayed.

You will be updated with further information if the current situation changes.
