Students create campaigns for fashion label GANT

Students presented their campaigns to judges including a team from Gant

BA(Hons) International Fashion Branding students have presented a series of communications campaigns to global label GANT.

Final-year students created a communications strategy for the brand based on GANT’s Never Stop Learning message and one team of students will be selected to join GANT for a week at its London HQ. The winning team, who will also be awarded £500, will be named at the GCU Fashion Showcase on May 30.

Tasked with showcasing GANT’s latest collection and telling the brand’s story, the students worked alongside photography students from City of Glasgow College to create a digital magazine as part of their communications strategies. They presented their projects to a panel of judges including GANT’s E-Commerce Manager Gemma Bamford, and manager of its Glasgow store Thomas Grahame, as well as GCU’s Aileen Stewart and Cara Connell and Glasgow fashion blogger “Forever Yours Betty”.

Programme Leader Aileen Stewart said: “We’re thrilled to be working with GANT on an innovative and exciting project that is giving our students hands-on experience of creating a real-world campaign for a leading brand.

“The prize - an opportunity to work alongside GANT’s incredible team - will offer them an invaluable, immersive experience. All of our students are to be congratulated on having thrown themselves into creating fantastic projects that gave them an insight into real-world campaigns.”

GANT’s UK Managing Director Fergus Patterson said: “We are extremely excited to be working with GCU and their International Fashion Branding students in our first project with a university in the UK. To support the students and give them the opportunity to get hands-on industry experience encompasses everything we believe in and deliver from our brand cred Never Stop Learning.”
