Weather warning upgraded to Amber - guidance for students

Students must note the actions they are expected to take should adverse weather impact on exams.

There is currently a Amber Warning for snow in the Glasgow area from 3pm today (January 16) until 8am tomorrow (January 17).

At present the University still expects to be fully open today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday) and for all scheduled exams to take place.

If you have an exam today and/or tomorrow, please ensure you check local travel details, allow extra time to travel to campus and that you check the University’s web site and social media for updates.

To avoid problems later, students must read the information below and note the actions they are expected to take should adverse weather impact on exams.

Contingency plans are in place to ensure that all students affected by extreme weather have the chance to sit their exams. No students will be disadvantaged if they cannot attend an exam because of the adverse weather conditions and their Mitigating Circumstances are accepted.

Students should not ignore official travel advice in order to attend exams.

If you cannot attend an exam as a result of the weather but it has not been officially postponed, please email or call your Programme Administrator without delay. You will also need to submit a Mitigating Circumstances form with appropriate evidence e.g. information from transport providers informing that transport has been cancelled or delayed.
