Commenting on the improved results, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Learning, Teaching and Student Experience, Professor Valerie Webster, said:
"We are delighted that the University's commitment to the student experience has been recognised in the National Student Survey. I want to take this opportunity to thank our staff who have gone above and beyond to enhance the experience of our students.
"The student experience is at the heart of everything we do and it's thanks to you embracing this that we have achieved these excellent results. As we celebrate these achievements we will also be looking to the future, where we will continue to work in partnership with students, the Students' Association and colleagues from across the University to reflect on our successes and to identify those areas where we feel we can enhance even further the GCU student experience."
GCU Students' Association President, Susan Docherty, said:
GCU Student President Susan Docherty said: “We are delighted with the University’s increase this year as well as the Students’ Association increase of four percentage points taking us above the sector average, with 56% of students saying we effectively represent their academic interests.
"This demonstrates the work from the Students’ Association in order to tackle issues that affect students as well as our commitment to partnership working with the University.
"I am especially pleased at the results of SCEBE as I know how much work the School and myself, as the Vice President for the School last year, put into improving the students experience.”
The NSS surveys final-year undergraduates across the UK and has an impact on universities' reputation, rankings and recruitment. It is one of a number of ways we gather student feedback throughout the academic year to help us enhance the student experience for current and prospective GCU students. This year, 67% of eligible GCU students took part in the NSS.
