GCU ahead of Scottish sector average for degree completion
New figures from HESA, the Higher Education Statistics Agency, predict that 80.6% of GCU students will successfully complete their studies - ahead of the Scottish sector average of 79.7%. And HESA predicts our drop-out rate (neither award nor transfer) of 8.3%, well below the Scottish sector average of 10.2%.
HESA collects, processes and publishes data about higher education across the UK and is the trusted source of data and analysis in the sector. The 2021 data on projected learning outcomes is based on UK domiciled full-time students starting first degree courses in academic year 2018-19.
Professor Pamela Gillies CBE FRSE, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, said: "We are delighted that so many of our students, many from challenging backgrounds, are successfully completing their studies at GCU. Once again, we have performed above the sector average for degree completion. Our staff are committed to supporting our talented students and we will continue to offer an outstanding, nurturing environment to ensure they thrive throughout their journey with us."
