GCU registers best performance in university guide
Glasgow Caledonian University has climbed 15 places in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022, moving from 75th to 60th out of 132 universities in the UK.
This ranking builds on our year-on-year increases over the past five years (21-place rise last year) and represents the University’s best performance in the Guide to date.
It also means GCU has improved its ranking in all of the current UK league tables, including the Complete University Guide (+11) and the Guardian (+8).
Many of the University’s subject areas performed very well in the rankings, with six subjects ranked in the UK Top 10: Physiotherapy (5/35); Radiography (5/25); Food science (8/31); Subjects allied to medicine (9/82); Hospitality, Leisure, Recreation and Tourism (10/56); and Building (10/32).
Thirteen of our subjects increased their ranking in 2022 and eight subjects are in the top 25% in the UK.
Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Pamela Gillies CBE FRSE said: "The University is delighted to move up to 60th place in the Sunday Times Good University Guide in recognition of our considerable contribution towards internationally recognised research, the quality of our teaching and the richness of the student experience we offer. It was good to see that the Scottish sector as a whole has done particularly well on these measures."
The results have been published in full, along with profiles of all universities, on the Sunday Times website (requires subscription).
