GCU ranks among world’s best young universities

Glasgow Caledonian University has once again been named one of the world’s top universities aged 50-years-old or younger in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2021.

We have been ranked joint 188th out of 475 universities, on a par with our position in the 151-200 banding last year.  There have been positive improvements across four of the five categories for the University.

Our best-performing category was International Outlook, and our strongest growth was in the Teaching category. Our score also improved in the Citations and Research categories.

The THE Young University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings by Times Higher Education (THE) magazine. It lists the world’s best universities that are 50 years old or younger on measures including teaching, research, international outlook and income from industry (knowledge transfer).

The ranking follows recent University achievements: being ranked 69th in the world overall out of 1155 universities in the THE University Impact Rankings.
