A teaching case study produced by Professor Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas has been named runner-up in The Financial Times Responsible Business Education Awards

The case study, on Stella McCartney's fashion label, was singled out by judges of the awards, which showcase business schools that focus on sustainability alongside profit.

Taught to thousands of students all over the world, it outlines how Stella McCartney's upbringing influenced her approach to business, the ethos behind the label, and her success as a collaborator with high-street brands such as H&M.

The case study was co-written with Rosemary Varly of The London College of Fashion.

Professor Radclyffe-Thomas, of the British School of Fashion, said: "It is a great honour to be recognised in the FT’s Responsible Business Education Awards.

"Sustainability is a pressing and complex issue and the Stella McCartney case offers students unique insights into business operations and strategy at a pre-eminent sustainable luxury brand, enhancing students’ sustainability-related skills and helping to bridge the gap between theory and practice."

Each award was judged by a group of senior people from the private, public and non-profit sectors alongside FT journalists.

Andrew Jack, Global Education Editor of the FT, said: "These awards point to impressive achievements by those committed to wider societal impact and provide strong examples that others can emulate."
