UCI chief Trudy Lindblade to deliver Moffat Lecture 2023
The woman responsible for the hugely successful 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships is to deliver a free public lecture at Glasgow Caledonian University.
Chief executive Trudy Lindblade had overall executive responsibility for the planning and delivery of the world's biggest-ever cycling event, which took place in Glasgow and across Scotland last month.
More than 500,000 spectators lined the streets to enjoy the world-class sporting action and UCI hailed the event's 'excellent' organisation.
Now Ms Lindblade will share valuable insights into the two-year planning process for the Championships at the 2023 Moffat Lecture on October 3.
Prior to joining the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championship, she worked for the Victorian Major Events Company, in her native Australia, and played a pivotal role in the creation of the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race.
The 2023 Moffat Lecture will also provide the opportunity to celebrate new talent, with Moffat Scholarships presented to tourism and events students entering the industry.
The scholarships are named in honour of the Moffat family, pioneers in the Scottish travel industry, who generously donated more than £1million to support students and research at Glasgow Caledonian.
Book your free place at the lecture via Eventbrite.
