Creative technician Josh Joseph commended by NCTJ
Media tutor Josh Joseph has been commended for his innovative teaching during lockdown by the National Council for the Training of Journalists.
Josh was shortlisted in the Innovation of the Year category at the NCTJ Awards for Excellence for his outstanding use of video tutorials.
He travelled down to Twickenham this week with Angus Dixon, programme leader of our BA (Hons) Multimedia Journalism, to attend the awards ceremony, hosted by Sky Sports News presenter and Glasgow Caledonian graduate Jo Wilson.
The judges were impressed by the "very personable and flexible" approach to training displayed in the videos.
Josh said: "To be shortlisted for the Innovation in Teaching Award and to be among such talent was a real honour.
"It was also fantastic to represent Glasgow Caledonian as the only Scottish university to be NCTJ accredited. I want to thank Angus again for putting me forward.
"Throughout the day, students we met mentioned that their NCTJ diploma was one of the main reasons for getting their start in journalism and standing out among others."
Glasgow Caledonian is the only university in Scotland to offer journalism qualifications accredited by both the NCTJ and the Broadcast Journalism Training Council.
