GCU London opens impressive new building
GCU London has expanded its campus with a new state-of-the-art building on Vallance Road, just 10 minutes from Fashion Street.
This impressive new development will support our students' learning needs using flexible spaces for work and study, collaborative social spaces and the latest technology.
The £2.1million investment has transformed two floors of a residential development into a learning and teaching hub, comprising five teaching rooms, two computer labs, a student breakout area and a reception area.
The vibrant and innovative space features modern furniture and décor, reflecting the GCU London brand.
A short walk from Fashion Street, Vallance Road is easy to reach by public transport via the Whitechapel and Bethnal Green underground stations.
Significant growth in student numbers has driven this exciting expansion at GCU London. With the aim of increasing capacity at the campus, a new two-level property has also opened at 11 to 29 Fashion Street, a stone's throw from the main building. This new space contains an open-plan workspace for our academic staff and a new library, which has freed up the previous library area for a student services hub.
Director of the GCU London campus Professor Peter Jones said: "Very encouragingly, our student numbers and our academic offering have continued to expand over the past few years. However, our campus no longer had the capacity to support this growth.
"Our new building on Vallance Road, together with the two properties on Fashion Street, will not only provide innovative learning, teaching and social spaces for our students and staff but will allow us to grow our degree portfolio and student numbers.
"Importantly, they will also help to build a sense of belonging and social identity for our GCU London community."
