GCU supports new diversity awards
Glasgow Caledonian University staff and Student Association representatives were at the Scottish Association of Minority Ethnic Educators (SAMEE) inaugural Recognition and Appreciation Awards last night (August 31).
Held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow, the evening was a celebration of the commitment, efforts, progress, achievements and triumphs of individuals, groups and organisations across minority ethnic communities in Scotland, and the ‘added value’ they bring to learning, working and social environments.
With 16 awards in total, GCU’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor Adrian Lui was part of the judging panel and Professor Tuleen Boutaleb presented the Social Environmental Award and STEM Inspiring Diversity and Inclusion awards that the University sponsored.
Those in attendance included Tuleen Boutaleb, Adrian Lui, Fiona Campbell, Patricia Munoz de Escalona, Tabitha Nyariki, Laiba Tareen, Chukwuma Egbujor, Jennifer Abali, Omair Uthmani and Valentine Morgan.
