Glasgow Caledonian research film wins UK award
A powerful short film produced for a Glasgow Caledonian research study has won a prestigious UK award.
Gemma's Story features testimonies from survivors of domestic abuse and stalking and is informed by research carried out by Professor Nancy Lombard and Dr Katy Proctor.
The animated short, produced in association with the creative agency media co-op, today won Best Charity Film - Small at the Third Sector Excellence Awards.
The judges said: "Gemma's Story gives a voice to victims of coercive control and stalking.
"The script for the animation Gemma's Story has been produced using direct quotes from the research participants. It is harrowing, thought-provoking and designed to make a difference."
The project, funded by the Scottish Government's Justice Analytical Services, looked at women's experiences of the Scottish criminal justice system after reporting stalking and coercive control.
