40th in the Guardian University Guide
Our impressive climb in the highly regarded 2024 Guardian University Guide places us at 40th in the UK out of 122 universities, reinforcing our reputation as a rising star in UK higher education.
The University retains its status as the overall top-performing modern university in Scotland.
It was a fantastic year at subject level too, with Glasgow Caledonian ranking among the top three in the UK (and first in Scotland) for Social Work, Animation and Game Design, and Nutrition and Food Science. We also rank in the top 10 (and first in Scotland) for subjects including Hospitality, Events Management and Tourism, Forensics Science, Marketing and PR, and Physiotherapy.
Top 50 in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024
For the first time, we broke into the top 50 UK universities in the highly coveted Times guide. At 50th among 131 universities, the guide confirmed our position as Scotland’s top-performing modern university, and the leading UK university in key health areas including Subjects allied to Medicine, Physiotherapy, and Radiography. Our Food Science programme ranked first in the UK, with Hospitality, Leisure, Recreation and Tourism ranked second in the UK (first in Scotland).
2nd top-performing UK modern university in the Daily Mail University Guide
The inaugural Daily Mail University Guide, ranked us as the second-highest top-performing modern university in the UK. The University’s strength in preparing graduates for high-skilled jobs is underscored by its ranking of 23rd in the UK.
