Glasgow Caledonian to host cycling research symposium

Glasgow Caledonian University is to host a leading international symposium on cycling research.
The Cycling and Society Symposium will be held on campus on September 3-4, with Glasgow following Porto as the host city this year.
The event will bring together local and international academics, and practitioners from policy, health and transport with an interest in cycling to share research and learnings around cycling from planning and infrastructure to urban change.
Dr Nick Davies, Senior Lecturer in Tourism and Events at Glasgow Caledonian, who has led on bringing the symposium to Glasgow, said: “In societal and policy terms cycling is seen as key to developing healthier, greener, low-carbon and socially just cities and regions.
“The symposium will bring together academics, practitioners and policy-makers who are at the cutting edge of the subject area, to share contemporary research and develop the agenda for cycling and more widely, social justice, active lifestyles, sustainability and planning.”
The call for abstracts is open until April 30. Submissions can be made via this Google Form.
