Have your say on campus biodiversity plan

The University's Facilities Management team would like to hear staff and students' views on its plans to create a more biodiverse Glasgow campus.

The team wants your feedback on its plans for a campus biodiversity strategy. The strategy is outlined in its Biodiversity Plan Consultation, which can be accessed until the end of the month by following this link, GCU Biodiversity Plan - Consultation (padlet.org).

Paulo Cruz, Sustainability Officer, said: "While the proportion of 'green' space on campus might not seem to be that large, our grounds provide a thriving home for a variety of plants, insects, birds and even small mammals. Through our Biodiversity Plan we would like to develop a more holistic approach that promotes more biodiversity by exploring synergies between our grounds maintenance approach, our formal gardens and potential areas set aside as biodiversity havens.

"We have developed an initial approach and list of measures for our Biodiversity Plan that will promote a whole ecosystem approach and we would welcome your feedback, even if it is just a 'like'. Please visit our Biodiversity Plan Consultation Padlet and help shape how we enhance biodiversity on our campus."
