Glasgow Caledonian University has secured a new collaboration with BBC Scotland and BBC ALBA.

BBC executives have agreed to facilitate script-pitching sessions and guest lectures for students on our acclaimed MA TV Fiction Writing programme.

MA TV is the only postgraduate course in the UK dedicated to the writing of TV drama.

Graduates from the course have worked in every long-running continuing drama on British television, including EastEnders, River City, Casualty and Holby City.

Bill Macleod, Commissioning Editor at BBC ALBA, said: "We are delighted to support the MA TV course.

"Previous graduates have gone on to work on some of our most popular scripted shows across Scottish local, network and Gaelic language drama.

"Working with my colleagues in network and local scripted, we look forward to sharing our experiences with new students and hope it will benefit their writing career development."

Professor Catriona Miller, who teaches on the MA TV programme, added: "BBC Scotland has been a wonderful supporter of the course even before we welcomed our first cohort of students.

"That connection with the industry is so important and keeps the course real and relevant for our aspiring drama writers.

"The programme team are delighted at the latest evidence of their support for new talent."
