Malcolm and Hans: A Valentine's celebration
Valentine's Day cards created by the late Professor Malcolm Lochhead have gone on public display at Glasgow Caledonian's Archive Centre.
Malcolm, who passed away last year, made the cards for his beloved husband Hans over the course of their 48 years together.
A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, Malcolm trained in textile and embroidery design and his excellence in the field led him to create outstanding artistic work, which graces Durham Cathedral, St Andrew's College in Christchurch, New Zealand, and Stirling Castle.
Professor Lochhead taught thousands of students during an academic career that spanned five decades at Glasgow Caledonian. The cards will remain on display for the next couple of months.
Hans said: “Valentine’s Day was always important to Malcolm and being a designer, specialising in textile art his cards were handmade, while mine, being a bookseller and stationer, were bought.
“I’m proud to share our love for each other with you.”
Carole McCallum, the University's Archivist, said: "Hans has kindly given me a selection of the handmade cards Malcolm made him over the years.
“The collection is our contribution to LGBTQ+ History Month.
“We hope the display will bring a sense of belonging to our students and staff."
