Professor Sara Cantillon is the new President-Elect of the International Association for Feminist Economics.

Voted in by IAFFE members across the world, the Director of Glasgow Caledonian's Wise Centre for Economic Justice will serve for three years; as President-Elect from July 2023 to 2024; as President from 2024- 2025 and as outgoing president from 2025-2026.

IAFFE has around 600 members in 43 countries and seeks to advance feminist inquiry and educate economists and others on feminist points of view on economic issues.

While the majority of IAFFE’s members are economists, the group also includes scholars in other disciplines, students, activists, and policymakers.

Professor Cantillon said: "I'm shocked, honoured and delighted

"This is great news both for the Wise Centre in its ambition to be recognised as an international centre of excellence for feminist economics and for the University, which is currently number one in the UK for Gender Equality."

Professor Cantillon added she hopes to follow in the footsteps of all the eminent previous Presidents and make a contribution to IAFFE’s mission to further gender-aware and inclusive economic inquiry and policy analysis.
