Professor Catriona Miller to host BAFTA Live event
Professor Catriona Miller will quiz the talent behind some of British TV's most successful formats as part of a BAFTA festival to support young people.
Glasgow Caledonian's Professor of Media will host an expert panel featuring the creative minds behind smash hit shows such as The Traitors, The Masked Singer, Love It or List It and Pointless, in Glasgow on March 18.
TV Formats - Who's Got the Next Big Idea? is part of a series of sessions being held during BAFTA Guru Live Scotland 2023.
The annual festival supports emerging talent in film, games and TV and is open to all.
Professor Miller will be joined by Linsay Gordon, Head of Development, Raise the Roof Productions, Neil McCallum, Commissioning Editor, BBC Daytime & Entertainment, and Daniel Nettleton, Creative Director of Bandicoot TV, for the live discussion at The Glasgow School of Art.
She said: "I am thrilled to be asked to host the panel.
"I'm looking forward to talking about one of my favourite subjects with the people who make the shows."
Earlier this year, Professor Miller, who teaches on Glasgow Caledonian's MA TV Fiction Writing programme, co-authored a book on how to pitch TV shows.
Creating TV Formats: From Inception to Pitch features contributions from the creative talent behind Channel 4's Gogglebox, The Great British Bake Off, and First Dates.
Tickets for the BAFTA Guru Live Scotland session, which will take place in the Reid Auditorium at The Glasgow School of Art on March 18, cost £3 and are available online.
