Professor Nancy Lombard wins Outstanding Researcher award
Professor Nancy Lombard has won Outstanding Woman Researcher in Sociology at The Venus International Women Awards.
Glasgow Caledonian's Professor in Sociology and Social Policy received the award at a ceremony in Chennai, India, this weekend.
The Venus International Women Awards celebrate and promote successful and promising women researchers across the globe.
Professor Lombard, who is in India to deliver keynote lectures in Chennai and Delhi over the next two weeks, was nominated by international colleagues.
She said: "I was honoured to accept the award and meet so many inspiring women working across the world to enact change."
A recognised authority on the analysis of children’s understanding of violence against women, Professor Lombard's research has been used as an evidence base for the Scottish Government’s prevention strategy.
More recently she has completed work funded by the Scottish Government exploring women’s experiences of the criminal justice system when reporting domestic abuse and stalking.
