Glasgow Caledonian’s School of Health and Life Sciences Vice-Dean, Professor Helen Gallagher, will take you on an unexpected journey from neuroimaging to academic leadership in her inaugural Professorial Lecture on October 10, 2023.
Professor Gallagher said: "I will reflect on my career trajectory from clinical researcher to becoming a Professor of Learning and Teaching. Drawing on my experiences of leadership and management, I will discuss the opportunities, inspirations and challenges I have encountered along the way."
Her Professorial Lecture entitled From Neuroimaging to Academic Leadership: An Unexpected Journey will take place in the Deeprose Lecture Theatre from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. Professor Gallagher holds a PhD in Medicine (Clinical Studies) from University College London (UCL), having previously trained and practiced as a Clinical and Research Radiographer utilising advanced imaging modalities such as MRI, to study long-term neurological and neuropsychological conditions.
She is a Senior Fellow of the HEA and has more than 22 years of experience working in the higher education sector. In her current role, her focus is on academic leadership to enhance the student experience.
