UCI chief Trudy Lindblade delivers the Moffat Lecture 2023
The Chief Executive of the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships praised the depth of talent in the events industry in Scotland as she delivered this year's Moffat Lecture.
Trudy Lindblade, who led the team in charge of the phenomenally successful Championships, told tourism and events students: "Scotland is the perfect stage for major events.
"It has the expertise right here. That's why a University such as this, delivering the programmes that it does, is so important.
"Many of the team who worked on the Championships were graduates of this University."
Figures show the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships attracted a million spectators over 11 days this summer.
The Moffat Lecture also provided an opportunity to celebrate new talent, with Moffat Scholarships presented to our outstanding students.
The scholarships are named in honour of the Moffat family, pioneers in the Scottish travel industry, who generously donated significant funds to support students and research at Glasgow Caledonian.
