University improves top 50 UK position in 2025 Times rankings

Glasgow Caledonian University has made another impressive leap in the higher education rankings, breaking further into the prestigious top 50 of the 2025 Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide.

We now stand at 44th of 131 universities in the UK, moving up six places from last year. This accomplishment cements our status as the leading modern (post 1992) university in Scotland.

This year's advance coincides with our recent top 50 ranking in the highly esteemed Guardian University Guide, and being ranked top performing UK modern university (of 71) and Modern University of the Year in the Daily Mail University Guide 2025.

We have excellent subject-level performance too and are the leading university in the UK in key health areas, including Physiotherapy and Radiography, according to the Times and Sunday Times.

Professor Steve Decent, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, welcomed the results and said: "I am absolutely thrilled that the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025 recognises the dedication and excellence of our University. Our improved top-50 ranking is a clear reflection of the hard work and dedication of our students and staff. Our focus on transforming lives through accessible, impactful education and research continues to drive us forward. I extend my heartfelt thanks to our exceptional colleagues whose unwavering dedication and hard work have contributed to yet another outstanding achievement in a key university league table."

The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025 serves as a valuable resource for prospective students seeking higher education opportunities in the UK.

Today's outstanding results are based on excellent outcomes in a range of areas including student satisfaction with teaching quality, the overall student experience, research quality, and our commitment to widening access and graduate employability.
