Who should be our new Chancellor?
You are invited to submit, in confidence, suggestions for who you would like to see as the new Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University.
The role, which was previously held by Dr Annie Lennox OBE, is central to the formal and ceremonial life of the University. It includes conferring degrees on students, and supporting and promoting the University’s ambitions and vision. As an ambassador for Glasgow Caledonian, the Chancellor advocates for the University, helping to raise our profile and advance our interests around the world.
The University would like to hear from staff, students and other stakeholders who they think would be good to fulfil this important honorary and unremunerated role. The individual needs to meet the following criteria:
- Be highly respected, with a positive public profile that resonates with students, staff and wider stakeholders
- Have demonstrated excellence in their field of endeavour and command the respect of the University's communities
- Be able to identify with the University's Strategy and Values and, in particular, recognise the importance of higher education, learning and research, and our mission for the Common Good and
- Be capable of inspiring a diverse range of audiences with the University's mission
