Dr Jane Milton

With over 30 years of experience in the food industry in the UK and overseas, Dr Jane Milton has a proven track record as a food consultant, helping producers, brand owners, innovators, and retailers develop their ideas and find the fastest, most cost-effective route to market.

Jane began her career in food at Greggs Plc, helping the firm transition into a national ‘food to go’ business at a time when buying and eating sandwiches outside the home was still a new concept. She has maintained her interest in bakery businesses, devising and implementing strategies for a range of companies.

Jane has a unique relationship with many UK and Irish supermarkets, convenience groups and food halls developed through her strategic roles in several food industry awards, and has been a board member and investor in BBC’s Dragons’ Den businesses, working with Dragon Deborah Meaden since 2012 to grow her food and drink investments.

In 2017, Jane became the UK’s first Certified Tea Sommelier – accredited by the Tea Association of Canada. The qualification has allowed Jane to increase her understanding of the industry, at a time when consumers are increasingly exploring alternatives to alcohol.
