Inter-library loan

Can’t access a book, journal article, or resource - we’ll get it for you!

Sometimes the item you need isn’t immediately available - but that doesn’t mean you can’t get it. We’ll connect you with the resource as quickly as possible so you can keep reading, researching, or writing without delay.

Who can make a request?

  • All staff and students
  • Distance learning students can access journal articles and book chapters (postal delivery of books is not available)

What can you request?

  • Books – borrow entire books from other libraries
  • Journal articles and book chapters – get digital copies of articles or chapters not available in our collection
  • Conference papers and more – if you need something specific, we’ll do our best to find it

How to make a request

Step 1: Check availability

  • Search Discover to see if the item is available. Sign in for accurate availability and access options.

Step 2: Submit your request

  • Use “Get it for me” and choose how you’d like to receive your item
  • If you can’t find what you need, fill out a blank Resource Request Form with as much detail as possible

Step 3: Track your requests

  • View request updates in Your Library Account. You’ll also receive an email (to your University account) when your item is ready. Article links expire after 30 days so download and save them promptly.
  • You can also cancel your request here if you no longer need the item

Step 4: Collect and use your item

  • Articles and book chapters - typically delivered electronically to your university email within 24 hours
  • Physical books - take longer to arrive and must be collected from the library and returned by the due date
