Confirmation of student status letters can be used for opening a bank account, applying for a job, renting a flat and applying for a travel visa. They can also be submitted with your exemption form when applying for your Council Tax exemption .
You can order student status letters through the student portal . Your student status letter will be produced in PDF format on Glasgow Caledonian University headed paper and will have a digital signature.

From 1 August, any student fully registered on a full-time or part-time course at Glasgow or London campuses can request a letter through the student portal.
Prior to this date, please continue to use myservice.
Login using your domain username and password Under the My Programme section, select Confirmation of Student Status Select the letter you require from the drop-down menu, and add any details relevant to your request The letter will be emailed to your GCU student email account
Students not eligible for a letter/requiring specific text

You may not be eligible for a letter through the student portal if you are:
A previous student A student taking a period of suspension (the date you commenced suspension will be shown) A student withdrawn from the course (the date that you withdrew will be shown) A student requiring specific text not covered in options available in the portal. You can request a letter by emailing us with your name, student ID, who you require the letter for and any additional text to be added. A copy will be emailed to you within ten working days, though this can be longer during peak times.
If you are on campus, you can also request a letter at the Campus Life desk.
Overseas students requiring working permissions letter

Overseas students who require confirmation of their vacation periods for their employer should request a standard student status letter from the student portal and download a copy of the working permissions letter . The working permissions letter will assist the employer in assessing your eligibility to work.

We are unable to provide letters to confirm completion of studies. Your employer can use the academic calendar, student status letter and your CAS dates to assess eligibility for full time work. You can also provide a copy of your final academic transcript which you will receive after your award has been finalised at the progression and award boards.
