Winter break 2024-25: services and support for students This year the University’s winter break will begin at 5pm on Monday, 23 December, with all buildings and services at our Glasgow campus re-opening at 9am on Friday, 3 January 2025. The London campus will re-open at 9am on Thursday 2 January.

Students’ Association

Students’ Association building will close on Monday 23 December at 3pm and reopen on Monday 6 January 2025.
The Re:Union Bar & Grill based in the Students Association will close on Friday 13 December 2024 and re-open on Monday 20 January 2025.
From Monday 16 December 2024 the Computer Lab in the Students' Association will move to opening Monday to Friday, 7am to 9pm and will be closed from 3pm on Monday 23 December until 7am on Monday 6 January 2025.
Out-of- Hours Lab

With effect from Monday 16 December 2024 , students at our Glasgow campus will have access to a new out-of-hours computer lab to support students with independent study outside of normal University operating hours.
The Out-Of-Hours Lab is located on the ground floor of the CEE building and has approximately 95 PCs for students to use.
The lab will be open 7pm to 7am (Monday to Thursday) and from 7pm on Fridays all the way through to 7am on Monday mornings .
The out-of-hours lab will also be open from 5pm on Monday 23 December to 7am on Friday 3 January 2025 (inclusive ) throughout the festive break.
Students will need to have their student ID card activated at the security office in the William Harley building as you will need to swipe your ID card to gain access to the lab. Entry to the lab is via a card-activated door on the ground floor of the CEE building across from the Arc gym. The entrance will be clearly signposted.
The out-of-hours lab will replace the 24-hour lab on the ground floor of the Students’ Association building. The facility in the Students’ Association will revert to being a study lab and will be open 7am – 9pm, Monday – Friday. Please note the study lab in the Students’ Association will be closed from 3pm on Monday 23 December until 7am on Monday 6 January 2025.

If you have assignments due and wish to discuss them with your module leader, please do this by 20 December 2024 as staff will not be available until they return on 6 January 2025. The University has endeavoured to ensure assessment submission dates are set before or after but not during the festive closure period. You should check, however, with your module leader.
