Sohaib Shahid Saleem
Sohaib, a GCU alumnus, will offer faith-based guidance on both Islamic and student matters to ensure that GCU can meet the needs of Muslim students and staff on campus. Sohaib has attained a Diploma in Islamic Studies and through his volunteering with various charities, has continued to apply and develop his Islamic knowledge.
Sohaib, our Student of the Year 2022, is the former president of the Caledonian Islamic Student Association (CISA), GCU's Society of the Year 2022 where he has experience of supporting, collaborating, and facilitating the growth of students.

As Muslim Chaplain, Sohaib aims to support Muslim students and staff by:
- Hosting confidential one-to-ones with Muslim staff and students, creating a safe space to seek advice
- Answering questions over email and WhatsApp regarding Islamic and student matters
- Ensuring GCU caters to the needs of Muslim staff and students on campus.
