Indian students reminded of home at a recent Students’ Association Bollywood movie night
Students at GCU were treated to a night of Bollywood movie classics at a recent film showing, hosted by the GCU Indian Student’s Assistance group (GISA).
GISA is a student led group aimed at bringing Indian students together, as well as organising Indian events and celebrations.
GISA held the event at the Student’s Association Re:Union Bar & Grill, as a way to help Indian students feel less homesick.
Showing films such as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, students had the opportunity to be reminded of home alongside other members of GISA.
MSc Marketing and GISA volunteer Aryan Srivastava wanted to help organise the event hopes that activities like this help the GCU Indian community feel a sense of belonging and inclusion. He explained: “The event was amazing and we got a huge response from students that we should organise more events like this in future.
After such a successful event, we’re hoping to organise some more Bollywood movie nights in the future which will hopefully encourage students to interact and have fun.”
