Meet your new Student President, Wilfred Obi

Newly appointed Student President Wilfred Obi has officially started his post as Full Time Officer for 2024/2025 following the Students’ Association elections earlier this year.

We met with Wilfred to find out what his goals are this year and learn some interesting facts about him!

What promoted you to run in elections?

Being a voice to all GCU students prompted me to run in the election

How did you feel when elected?

Excited and very happy.

What aspect of the role excites you the most?

Being able to speak for GCU students.

What are your main goals as VP? 

To be a voice to all students and help negotiate an enhanced experience for our students.

What can you bring to the role?

Dedication and service.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Nigeria.

How do you spend your free time?

Reading exciting books and sometimes go swimming.

What is your favourite movie?

Detective movies.

Who is your hero?

Christopher Obi, my Dad.

If you could have a superpower what would it be?

To have the power of telepathy.
