Autism
Glasgow Caledonian recognises that coping with student life is a daunting prospect for many . We recognise that autistic students may face additional barriers and anxieties.
In 2019, we became the first university in the UK, and worldwide, to be ‘autism friendly’ under the National Autistic Society Autism Accreditation scheme for universities. We secured renewal of our accreditation in 2023, gaining an Autism Specialist Award.
The Disability Team at GCU offers various support to autistic students which is outlined in the navigation boxes below. The support available from the disability team also aims to ensure that students can easily access other support services available throughout the University.
