Here at GCU, we strive to help our international students feel part of our community. We provide an extensive welcome programme for students in September and January, as well as offering social activities throughout the academic year. All of this allows students to make new connections and get the best experience GCU and Glasgow has to offer.
Try your best to get here for induction week, as well as the start of teaching, to give yourself the best start for success in your studies. If you are unavoidably late, there are deadlines for completing the registration process (that’s completing online registration and collecting your card).

Arriving Late
arrow_forward
International Students are required to be on campus and registered by the latest date of enrolment which is stated on your CAS. Any student that is unable to be in attendance by this date, should contact the Admissions Service or request an extension by contacting the CAS team if they think they will arrive late.
Extension requests are programme dependent and requires authorisation from your Programme Leader, Head of VISA and Associate Academic Registrar. Do not travel until you have received confirmation that you will be allowed to enrol late. If you travel without confirmation, you may be stopped from entering the UK and may not be able to register for your Programme. If your request is not approved, the Admissions Service will be able to provide advice on next steps and how to defer to the next available intake.
You may have missed your library orientation session, if so contact your librarian for help and advice or have a look at the library's website for more information.
