Paid employment and studying can complement each other, for example applying what you have learned from your studies to your workplace. Even when your study and work is in a different field, it is likely you will have developed transferable skills in the workplace you can apply to your studies, and vice versa. However, working alongside your studies can in some circumstances be challenging.

Childcare

We have two mother and baby rooms located at the back of the restaurant on the ground floor of the George Moore building, past the vending machines and toilets.
The first room has a changing table, a fridge and a microwave for your convenience. This room can only be accessed by swipe card. To gain access to this room, please go to the Security office in the William Harley Building and request access.
The second room is a changing room that includes a changing table, a chair and a sink. This room is accessible to everyone.

Your life circumstances can impact on your wellbeing, students can benefit from accessing additional emotional and practical support from the Student Wellbeing Service .
Our student wellbeing team includes Counsellors, Wellbeing Advisers, Mental Health Advisers, Disability Advisers and Mentors who are here to provide free and confidential advice and support. Our aim is to support all students through their time at University and help them to achieve academic success by providing a friendly face and a listening ear in a safe and non-judgemental environment.
Student Wellbeing Service offers workshops such as yoga, mindfulness and dealing with anxiety that students may find beneficial to learn coping strategies.
