Please report to People Services (H216) at 9.30am on your first day for your New Start Meeting, which forms part of your staff induction. Please ensure that you bring along your proof of eligibility to work in the UK and your main qualification.
Your Line Manager should liaise with you directly to confirm where and to who to report to following your New Start Meeting.
The Induction process starts with a New Start Meeting at People Services on your first day which welcomes you to the University and covers such things as the GCU Intranet Site, Annual Leave and Public Holidays, Pay Dates, Essential Online Training and your Department Induction.
People Services will also invite you to a Core Induction Programme lead by one of the University Executives.
People Services are required by law to check your eligibility to work in the UK prior to you beginning employment at GCU and so we must verify your original passport and other associated documents before making a copy to keep confidentially on file.
Your qualification is needed for HESA recording purposes and again we are required to verify the original document before making a copy to keep confidentially on file.
These documents must be provided in order to meet the conditions that are placed on your offer of employment.
When you return your signed terms and conditions along with your employee profile form People Services will forward your bank details to payroll on your behalf.
The payroll cut-off date is the 10th of the month and so you should be aware that if you return your completed paperwork after the 10th of the month that you begin employment at GCU you may not receive your first month’s wage on the 28th of that month.
If you are not able to provide your completed paperwork prior to the 10th please contact People Services.
