Inter-library loan
If you need an item for your research, teaching, or coursework that we don't have in stock, you can request it through our inter-library loan service.
- Books can normally be borrowed for four weeks; however, if the lending Library asks us to return it earlier, we must comply to avoid losing our borrowing rights.
- Journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers will be supplied electronically where possible. Due to licensing we are only able to provide one chapter of an ebook.
Eligibility
- All registered staff and students can apply for an inter-library loan.
- Most information requirements for undergraduates are expected to be available in our collections or locally.
- Distance learning students can apply for journal articles or book chapters; we don’t provide a book postal service.
Before You Request
- Check Discover, the Mitchell Library, and other local university catalogues as you can consult the item in a nearby library using the SCONUL Access scheme.
- We will not process requests for items we hold in stock or are accessible online.
- If an ebook or electronic journal article is available in our collection, we will aim to send you a link.
Usage
- Items are supplied for personal use only.
- For items to share or use in teaching, please use our scanning service.
- For theses, please see our Theses webpage.
