As a University with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the heart of everything we do. We are delighted that the British School of Fashion students at GCU London have been chosen to present their manifestos for Sustainable Luxury at today’s prestigious Advance HE Sustainability Symposium ⚡ Luna Sanchez and Haya Khalifa, current MBA Luxury Brand Management students, created the manifestos during their ‘Sustainable Luxury’ module. Luna’s excellent manifesto focused on a Future of Women as Sustainability Leaders, she explained that her manifesto was to address “the lack of female representation in decision-making on sustainability, which contrasted dramatically with the high number of female researchers, innovators, and the women with crucial insights due to having experienced these issues first-hand” Visit GCU London on You Tube to watch Luna’s video now

We are very proud of our MBA Luxury Brand Management students who are presenting their innovative manifestos for Sustainable Luxury at the prestigious Advance HE Sustainability Symposium this week Students created video manifestos for our new module ‘Sustainable Luxury’, applying the Sustainable Development Goals and World Values Day in the context of the global luxury industry, to explore how their values intersect with positive social, environmental and cultural sustainabilities Haya Khalifa adds "When working on my sustainability manifesto, I wanted to link what we learned in the module with my values. I looked into culture and how we look at our privileges and responsibilities and the paths we choose in life. The video shows what a future would be if we continue on the same path, but also shows hope of what it could be if we re-examine our values and change our actions". Professor Babakalli Alkali, from the School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment, will deliver his inaugural professorial lecture on Tuesday, March 2. The lecture, entitled The Future of Sustainable Railway: A Tale of Two RCM Analytic Approaches?, will explore how the application of remote condition monitoring is used for data collection of critical systems on trains, and how a reliability centred maintenance approach can be used to analyse failures in order to improve the performance and safety of trains.
